Paper Imaging       A document imaging system transforms paper documents into an electronic format. Many different types of systems have various features and are implemented for specific purposes, such as archiving documents. However, most of the systems are geared to replace paper documents as well as the filing cabinet. Some of the features one would expect to find in a document system would be; exact image reproduction, text extraction, full text searching, ability to use the system on a WAN or LAN, full text indexing, and the capacity to interface with the majority of mid to high range scanners in the market today.
